Yard Sale Deals & Steals [1]

I love yard sales!  Typically Little Bear and I (plus Grandma and Aunt A) head out every Friday during yard sale season (approximately April to October in this area) to see what deals we can find.  It is so much fun to dig for treasures and you never know what you are going to find.  Some weeks are great and others are duds but the fun is in the search and the savings.

I know that some people are not really into yard sales.  Either they prefer the simplicity of walking into a store and buying what they want or they simply don't like the idea of using some one else's stuff.  But if you have the time and enjoy the search, yard sales are a great way to save money and find neat stuff.  You will be amazed at the stuff that people want to get rid of!

I buy almost all of Little Bear's clothes and toys at yard sales.  I stock up during the summer for the rest of the year and buy ahead in sizes.  I have gotten tons of clothes, toys and baby gear for Little Bear, as well as furniture, housewares and clothes for myself and Papa Bear.  Often I am buying name brand items for $1 or less!  I don't actually know how much money I have saved but I am sure that it is significant.  Yard sale deals are great for toddlers because (1) they outgrow their clothes quickly (2) they ruin clothes quickly and (3) they are fickle about the toys/clothes that they like.

In the hopes of convincing others of the greatness of yard sales I am going to start a weekly feature to showcase all of my yard sale deals and steals.  I hope you enjoy!
